Aserca airlines flight R7-756 , McDonnell Douglas MD-80 from Maracaibo to Caracas Venezuela took off from Maracaibo airport and it was en route for about 20 mins when one engine suffered a problem and had to shut down.The crew declared an emergency and diverted back to Maracaibo airport for a safe landing

Passengers reported that they heard an explosion from the engine
