Jazz Aviation flight QK-7822 , de Havilland DHC-8-100 registration C-FGQK from Timmins to Toronto shorty after departure the crew declared an emergency due to an engine out.The crew diverted back to Timmins airport and landed safely
On 15 November 2013 the Canadian TSB reported that the C-FGQK was on climb out when the #2 ENG OIL PRESS warning light illuminated and the oil pressure gauge dropped to 20 p.s.i. The crew followed manual procedures and the engine (PRATT & WHITNEY-CAN, PW120A) was shut down. The crew declared an emergency with ATC and returned to Timmins for an uneventful landing with emergency services standing by. Maintenance topped the oil tank with 3 quarts of oil. Subsequent engine runs revealed no further faults. In addition a test flight was performed with no faults reported. The aircraft was returned to service.
