Alaska flight AS-837 , Boeing 737-800 from San Jose to Honolulu with 166 passengers on board took off from San Jose airport and struck a bird.The crew stopped the climb at 5000 feet advised the tower made a turn and decided to divert to Oakland international airport for a safe landing on runway 29 about half hour after departure
