Porter airlines flight POE-687 , de Havilland DHC-8-400 from Toronto's Island airport to Sault Ste Marie took off from Toronto's airport and was in the initial climb through 3000 feet when one from engines suffered a problem and had to shut down.The crew declared an emergency and diverted to Toronto's international airport for a safe landing on runway 33R
On 23 October 2013 the Canadian TSB reported that , Porter Airlines de Havilland DHC-8-400 registration C-GLQF , shortly after takeoff the crew received a number 1 engine (Pratt & Whitney Canada PW150A) fire indication. The crew completed an engine failure procedure, declared an emergency and requested a reroute to Toronto LBPIA (CYYZ). The aircraft landed without further incident and was inspected by ARFF. Maintenance located a detached exhaust nozzle which had allowed hot exhaust gas to enter the nacelle. Localized heat damage affected adjacent hardware, harnesses, plumbing, and an aft nacelle door.
