American airlines flight AA-1478 , Boeing 737-800 registration N914NN from Miami to Montreal it was aproaching Montreal international airport when the crew reported a flaps problem.The crew declared an emergency and landed safely at Montreal airport without furhter incident

 

On 30 October 2013 the Canadian TSB reported that airplane was approximately 10 miles final for runway 06L at Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau Intl when the crew noticed the amber leading edge transit light illuminated following the selection of flaps 1. The crew initiated the alternate extension procedure. The right trailing edge flaps extended, but not the left one causing an asymmetry. Alternate extension was terminated with the left flaps at 1 and the right at 1.5. As per the checklist, the flaps handle was returned to 1 and both flaps indicated 1 at landing. The maintenance personnel performed a FCSU bite check, accomplished an operational check of flaps and slats in accordance with AMM 27-51-00-810-813. No faults were found and the aircraft returned in service.
